Christian, wife, mom, baker, and aspiring figure competitor. I'm married to my best friend and we have three kids together; two girls, ages 7 and 5, and a son who turned 1 in June. You'll find personal posts, selfies, flexies, workout logs, and the occasional reblog.
I’m just your average mom who wanted to get back into shape after having kids.
I started my weight loss journey back in 2010, after my youngest daughter was a year old.
I was still carrying an extra 20lbs of baby weight and had decided enough was enough and something needed to change.
It took me 2 years.
I had no idea what I was doing or how to do it so there was a lot of trial and errors.
I thought in order to lose weight you had to do cardio. After a year of Zumba, using the elliptical, and occasionally running I’d only lost about 10lbs and was getting frustrated and discouraged. Then a dear friend I’d met online suggested the book The Body Sculpting Bible Express for Women, which I bought, and that made me touch my very first dumbbell. I’ve been hooked on lifting weights since. I spent about 4 months lifting dumbbells before I got up the courage to touch the barbell and a love affair was born.
6 months of heavy lifting with a splattering of cardio here and there resulted in me being able to wear and rock a bikini for the first time. I LOVED it! I loved it so much and friends and family were asking me for advice and if I’d help them lose weight that I decided to become a Personal Trainer.
I’m an ACE certified Personal Trainer and I love helping others achieve their fitness goals!
In order to keep things exciting I started training for different races. In 2012 I ran a 12k, did a couple Sprint Triathlons, and completed a Tough Mudder!
2 weeks after finishing the TM I found out I was pregnant with my third child. :D I was thrilled! Due to the severity of my morning (all effing day) sickness working out during my pregnancy was not an option. Half way through my second trimester I started walking but that was the extent of it.
I had my baby boy June 17th, 2013 and started venturing back into the world of fitness when he was 2 months old.
I started by doing the home program Insanity and loved it! When I finished the 60 day program I renewed my gym membership and started lifting weights again.
Slowly but surely the extra 45lbs I gained while pregnant is coming off. I’m hoping to be close to my pre pregnancy body by my son’s 1st birthday.
My ultimate goal is to be a role model for my children, husband, friends, and other moms out there who think it’s impossible to look and feel amazing after having multiple kids.
